  • Billy: A homeless older man, he likes to seem to not care and distance himself from Skip but really does care. Skips Companion throughout the story.
  • Max: A little boy, told by his mother to stay in the library until she fetches him. He is found by Billy and Skip.
  • Michaela: A librarian, she is different and thats what Skip likes about her. She is only briefly in the story.
  • Mr Kavanagh: Skip's Teacher at the school he ran away from. He has no input into the story.
  • Bradley Clark: an agressive man who lives in the same refuge as Billy.
  • Albert: a man
  • Monet: Skip's idol
  • Skip: A boy with a hard life, has two different coloured eyes, an aspiring artist, he has run away from his carers and there he meets Billy and Max. The story is from him point of view.
  • Sixpence: Tina's baby, comes into the story late.
  • Tina: A teeenage mother, she dances for the soldiers, has a bright red coat and a baby called Sixpence.
  • Cecily: An old ladie in the library, is loving to Skip and Max.
  • Zombie: Add a description of this character.
