  • Carlos Duarte: The main character of the story. He has been putting makeup on himself and others since he was young. His dream is to be a famous make up artist for movies or TV. He is very talented and has a way of talking to people that makes them like him.
  • Rosalia: Carlos's sister. She works at a fast food place. She dresses in bright colors and not with good taste. She loves her brother and supports him as much as she can.
  • Angie: Carlos's best friend
  • Gleason Kraft: Carlos's crush. Carlos doesn't know if Gleason is gay, but he likes him. Gleason is a rocker and a photographer.
  • Valentino: Carlos's boss at the "Fresh Face" cosmetic counter. He is a diva who always gets what he wants.
  • Ma: Carlos's mom. She works hard, but she just can't get ahead. She is very tired, but tries to do her best for her kids.
  • Lissette: A co-worker at the Fresh Face counter.
  • Soraya: Carlos's friend who works a a store that sells designer clothes that are marked down.
  • Danny: Rosalia's (Carlos's sister) abusive boyfriend. He disrespects Carlos when his sister isn't looking.
