While I very much like this book, and Daja (who is the central character), it kind of creeps me out to read it. In each book of this quartet there is a criminal, or group of criminals, that the mages are helping to find. In this book it's a "firebug" - someone intentionally starting fires. At first the fires don't hurt anyone, but by the end people are dying. And the thought of someone starting fires to kill people...well, it makes me shiver.
