All Anjali has dreamed of is to be a Food Network chef. Anjali and her family own a roti shop in downtown New York. She is 13 years old and her best friend Linc, helps her with anything she needs.
Anjali's parents want her to take a special test, so she can go to a better school, for a better education, but that isn't what she wants to do. When she goes to her cooking class, her teacher, Chef Nyla, tells her about a cooking competition that will be on Food Network. Anjali is so happy! She calls Linc and asks him if he will help her make her audition video. Linc says yes!
Anjali sends her video to Food Network and they pick her to be on the show! The only problem is that the show is the same day as the test. She doesn't know how she is going to tell her parents. She decides not to tell them. She goes to the show with Nyla.
If you want to see what happens next, READ THE BOOK!! I would recommend it!!!”
