Stir It Up! Is the story of a Trinidadian-American teen living in Queens, NY who works in parents roti shop, attends cooking classes, collects cookbooks and is a dedicated Food Network viewer. She is a passionate foodie (as many of her generation are) and her dream is to be the youngest ever host on the Food Network. She gets a shot of realizing her dream of becoming a TV chef, when she submits a video of her own special recipe and is selected to compete a kids’ cooking competition on Food Network. But Anjali's parents are not so supportive of her dreams and she has to go behind their back to go to the tryout--which she does with the help of her best friend Linc.
What happens next is delicious, dramatic and delightful.
Filled with Anjali's recipes and life recipes that teach kis about the importance of dreams, and how to go after them in the right way, Stir It Up! is a book that enriches readers lives (and tables!) long after the last page is turned.
