Self indulgent drivvle. Absolute disappointment.

To elaborate:
- Formulaic structure: Brennan called to the scene, gets involved, finds out it all goes much further than originally thought, bad guy tries to kill her, last minute escape, the end.
- Reichs' writing standard has slipped: Gone are the days when her characters had depth and individuality. Now, they all even speak the same!
- Brennan has gone from being feisty and independent to just plain bitchy and rude - the descriptions of how she views others are almost exclusively nasty insults on their appearance or intelligence. It's hard to sympathise with a character with no emotional depth or warmth.

Has the series been 'dumbed down' to accommodate a tv audience? Or has she just completely lost all interest in the integrity of the series.

As a long term fan, I am just so disappointed.
