From its length, you know you are going to get a much more concise work than Ackroyd's previous London tome, but in reading, you see that a sentence in this book, could be a whole chapter in someone else's book. Ackroyd is excellent at tying together a series of quick stories, into a cohesive whole.
For lovers of London, I can't recommend this highly enough.”
