“Follow-up to the hugely significant Orientalism, Culture and Imperialism's subject works are much more well-known than those discussed in its predecessor. As such its much more readable for those who might have only a casual interest in the evident subject of the whole book (erm ... note the title). Culture and Imperialism remains academically sound in spite of its well-known subject texts (Kipling's Kim, Camus etc.) and addresses the more academic works of the likes C.L.R. James and Raymond Williams (amongst many others) with equal tenacity.”
