It is a gospel book, but it keeps the reader fully focused and engaged in the book. The book has humor in it, but then it goes from humor to seriousness. There are personal stories that speak to you, deep down in the heart. It is a perfect book.”

Most Christians are just fans of Jesus but Jesus was never out to make fans, he was out to make followers. Being a follower means giving up everything, most especially yourself, to follow Jesus. Jesus doesn't just want to tweak our personality or make us better people, he wants us to die and completely transform our lives. To call him Lord means that we are his slave and he owns us. What a challenge. Are you a fan or a follower?”

An intentionally engaging book. - I get to study this book and the Scripture behind it more deeply this semester in my discipleship group! ”

Jesus has "fans" and Jesus has "followers." Am I a fan or follower? What does Jesus require if you are to be one of His followers? The author makes some great points & backs up with a lot of scripture & personal stories from other people. I didn't like his writing style. He tried to include a lot of humor & comments & side notes that were just dumb & annoying to me. The book could have been 100 pages shorter if he had just kept things focused. Overall, I liked it I'm glad to have had the chance to read it & now challenge myself to pick up my cross & follow Christ. ”

Are you a fan: an enthusiastic admirer of Jesus or are you a die-hard follower? The difference is clearly defined and the answers important.”
