“It may seem a bit premature, just one week into the new year, to say I've already read one of my favorite books for 2012, but I have little doubt that this superbly written, intriguingly populated, and smartly plotted novel of a young woman's defining year in 1938 NYC will be fresh in my memory come December...and beyond.”
