“Every Thing On It by Shel Silverstein
★ ★ ★
This book was a posthumous release of poems and drawings by Shel Silverstein. Unlike the poems I grew up with by Silverstein, this book definitely seemed rough. But that's not too surprising. As with most posthumous work, you have to wonder if the author even meant for such work to be released to the public. I can only imagine that Silverstein would have been less than thrilled to have some of these poems released into a book. And I don't know if my memory has faded but I don't remember some of his poems being so morbid and scary – some of these poems could have given me nightmares! With that being said, I did enjoy the book and there were some really great poems in here, but definitely not the best book I've read by the author. ”
