“Wonderful story about the friendship between a most unlikely pair, a middle-aged singel, political writer and a couple of minature schnauzers. Tom is a loner, writing a small newspaper in New England when he finds himself volunteering to take in a homeless dog. As he cares for this older dog and later for his next dog Atticus, he finds himself changing and becoming the man he always wanted to be. Libreally sprinkled with quotes from Emerson, Thoreau and Winnie-the-Pooh, this book entertaining and surprisingly exciting at times. It touched my heart and now I just want to meet Atticus some day and give him a doggie treat. And maybe, shake Tom's hand.”
