“Shepard's writing is such that you have a really hard time putting her books down, but I feel like at this point the Pretty Little Liars series just needs to end...”A. M. Henry wrote this review Thursday, January 19, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“The Pretty Little Liars are back with more secrets to uncover and explain for themselves as they go through yet even more struggles to keep their secrets hidden away.
I personally like how Sara Shepard manages to make this book extremely captivating, but it's still a light read that doesn't require as much thinking as a Jodi Picoult book would. ”
“I'm getting bored with the whole A thing now. Why can't these girls just be good? I don't know why they still want cell phones after being traumatized”Candy wrote this review Saturday, January 14, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This book is a high scale mystery and takes constant twists and turns. I loved this book because its not just a mystery wrapped around one question, its multiple secrets that you want answers to right away. The author writes it between 4 girls plots which I liked alot because the book doesn't drone on about one plot. Ruthless also has the aspect of a mystery stalker which gives and added plot. 4 girls, One suburb and many, many secrets. ”Caleb The Chipmunk wrote this review Friday, January 13, 2012. “For years scandal has rocked Rosewood, Pennsylvania - and high school seniors Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer have always been at the center of the drama. They've lost friends, been targeted by a ruthless stalker named A, and narrowly escaped death. And it's not over yet.
Aria's love life is on the fritz. Emily is exploring her wild side. Hanna's kissing the enemy. And someone from Spencer's past - someone she thought she'd never see again - is back to haunt her.
But none of that compares to what happened last spring break. It's their darkest secret yet and guess who found out? Now A is determined to make them pay for their crime, and the only thing scarier than A is the dear that maybe, just maybe, they deserve whats coming to them”

“Overall, this was another extraordinarily suspenseful and enjoyable PLL novel, with a prickly and unpredictable new foil (Kelsey) and yet another slip into insanity for Spencer.
Emily, as always, is tormented relentlessly throughout the story - the other girls are intermittently granted brief bits of happiness with their boyfriends, but Em's trouble with the laydays seems to know no end.
After everything she's been through, Hanna still hasn't learned that divulging someone else's massive, horrible secret is a poor form of vengeance - I expect that she'll regret telling Liam's family secret when the next novel rolls around.
Aria's plotline is, unfortunately, just ridiculous. Seriously, I hate Noel. How dare he believe "Klaudia" for all that time and then humiliatingly dump Aria and date that Finnish hussy?! Despite the fact that Ezra's portrayal in this entry is almost entirely unconvincing (he's suddenly egotistical, insecure, and whiney about his writing) (and he makes out with Klaudia??!!), he still doesn't come off as poorly as Noel, though we're still clearly expected to respond with glee when Aria takes the latter back at the end. Gag. Grr. Argh.
It's interesting that Spencer is so desperate and unhinged in the book series, while on the tv show she is the most composed and intelligent of the Liars. While I prefer many aspects of the show to those of the books, the novels are still and always the original, and ultimately a consistently quick and juicy read.
----btw, what happened in Iceland?! ”
“I just recently finished this book and I loved it! I watch the Pretty LIttle LIars T.V. show and I enjoyed it so much I went to buy the books. This book was full of suspense and surprises. For example, Emily becomes really close with a girl her friends think is dangerous. Emily does not believe her friends and Emily continues seeing her. Later on, near the end of the book the girl tries to kill Emily and Emily then realized she is dangerous and regrets not believing her friends. I highly recommend you read all the Pretty Little Liar series.”sammy84 wrote this review Monday, January 23, 2012. ( reply | view 1 replies | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
