“The conclusion to the Solid series is a fast paced and interesting end to the lovey world inhabited by Clio Kaid and her fellow mutants. I use the word “mutant” loosely because this isn’t a true genetic mutation born of evolution, but rather an intentionally scientifically engineered one that I still want to know more about. Luckily, the door is left open to get more information down the line, and I’m almost as excited as Clio would be.
In the previous novel, Clio made a series of questionable decisions, and she spends a fair amount of time dealing with the consequences in this book. I liked that she had to mend some fences and try to repair her friendships, but I also wish it had taken a bit longer. I think that’s my most consistent thing with this series, I wish it was longer!

“I must say Shelley wrote one heck of a series. I devoured eat book and longed for more. Sound is a great ending to her series and she has made a fan out of me for life. Sound, like the rest of the series, was so hard to put down. Her characters are so relatable and full of layers.
Clio is living with the consequence of her actions from book two at the start of Sound. Her friendships have become fractured and she doesn't know how to fix it. Rae, Xavier, and Alexis are her only source of comfort. Bliss, Miranda, and Garrett have yet to forgive her while Jack doesn't even remember much of anything. But, like any great friendship, the gang slowly comes around and reunites. To celebrate the end of summer and the up coming school year the military tells the whole "camp" that they get to pick one of four outings. They can choose from a baseball game, a Broadway play, a concert, or the Planetarium. But when you are a kid with super-human abilities nothing ever goes according to plan. All four outings have a similar event happen which kicks them into action. Once back a "camp' Clio seems to be the only one truly concerned about what has happened which starts Clio on her "Harriet The Spy" mission.
I can't really say much more without ruining the story for everybody. Even though Sound is the end to the Solid Trilogy, I can't help feeling that Shelley left the door open a crack to possibly a book 4 or a spin-off series (which in my opinion would be AWESOME). On a scale from 1-10 I give Sound a 10. It is a great ending to a series while leaving just enough room for possibly more. If you loved Solid and/or Settling then you really need to pick up a copy of Solid. If you haven't read either than you really need to get moving and buy all three books in the Solid Trilogy. Delve right into the world of C9X and the Military cover up that follows. Let Clio show you how to disappear into her world.”
