This book really starts off before Skye O'Malley was born. It is written about the first Duke of Glenkirk. It gives you a real sense of Scotland history. I found it really fascinating to learn how the Scottish lived. You will find, in the true Bertrice Small manner, that there is a goodly portion of love, sex, and adventure in this book. If you don't like steamy romance and details, then you will not like Bertrice Small at all as an author. I think she is great.
