“Even though the author hit the ground running with this one it took me the better part of the first half to really get into this story. Not sure why. I enjoyed the story enough to keep going back to it but it did fall flat for me in a few areas.
I thought the progression of madness and loss of control of the killer was very believable as was the growing struggles of Paul between his past life as a cop and his new life of faith. I would have liked for Paul or Keren to have figured out who the killer was before seeing his face and I definitely would have liked for the killer to have found out that LaToya lived. Also, the two FBI agents, Higgins and Dyson (I believe those are their names), so much was made of their quirky behavior that a smidge of background would have been nice.”
