- Catherine Crawfield Russell: "Cat" - "Kitten" - "Red Reaper" - "Catherine Crawfield Russel" - 29 year old half-breed, turned full vampire, by Bones (her husband). She has red hair and medium gray eyes. She can only drink undead blood and she can temporarily absorb the donor’s special abilities.
- Bones: "Crispin Phillip Arthur Russell III" - He is a master vampire, Cats husband and is 200+ years old. He is also co-ruler of Mencheres line. He has short dark curls and dark brown eyes. He can hear others thoughts, fly and has telekinetic abilities. Was a male prostitute in England while still human and is a Bastard son of a prostitute from eighteenth-century London.
- Donald Bartholomew Williams: He is a ghost. He is Cat's uncle and former boss. Former head of a covert branch of Homeland Security that guards the public against rogue supernatural creatures. He has gray-nearly white hair and gray eyes. He looks like your average middle-aged businessman.
- Fabian du Brac: Ghost that Bones and Cat "adopted"; Died at the age of 45; Has sideburns
- Tate Bradley: Vampire; Sergeant in charge of a covert branch of Homeland Security that guards the public against rogue supernatural creatures (Don's successor); Cat's friend; ; Cat's former first officer; He was in love with Cat, frequently trying to put a wedge between her and Bones; Is muscular with indigo eyes and brown hair cut high-and-tight.
- Justina Crawfield: Vampire; Cat's mother; In training to be on the team of the Homeland Security special unit; Has dark hair and blue eyes
- Mencheres: He's a mega-master vampire. He is Bones'co-ruler and grandsire. He has telekinetic powers and visions of the future.He is Over 4,000 year old and former pharaoh.He looks like he's in his early 20's.He has black hair and charcoal eyes.
- Elisabeth: Ghost; Fabian's friend; Has a Marilyn-Monroe-like figure and a beautiful face; Speaks with a German accent; Met Fabian in New Orleans in June 1935; Was a midwife when she was alive; Has brown hair with rich auburn highlights and her eyes are so deep blue that they look like the ocean at midnight.
- Spade: aka Baron Charles DeMortimer. He’s a Master Vampire. He’s also Bones best friend, and Denise's husband. He has black shoulder-length hair. Charles met Bones as another inmate in a ship where they were took to the colonies in Australia. Once in Australia Charles was turned into a vampire by Timothy.
- Denise MacGregor: aka Denise DeMortimer. She is a Demon shape shifter and Cat’s best friend. She is Spade's wife. She has dark brown hair and hazel eyes.
- Ian: Master Vampire; Bones' sire; Has auburn hair and turquoise eyes; Is an arrogant, obnoxious pervert
- Vlad Tepesh: aka Dracula. He is a master vampire that has pyrokinetic powers and he is able to fly. He is lean with a beard, long brown hair and coppery green eyes.He is over 600 years old. He and Bones do not get along very well even though he's Cat's friend.

- Jason Madigan: Operations Consultant; A tall, thin, older human man; Has graying hair cut in the high-and-tight style and pale blue eyes; Wears wire-rim glasses
- Heinrich Kramer: He is the ghost of a evil witch hunter who wrote the "Malleus Maleficarum" (The Hammer of Witches). He is a tall, thin man with white hair, green eyes and a craggy, wrinkled face. He speaks with a heavy German accent.
