I enjoyed the dual storylines. I found myself anxious about Lucille, when I was in the midst of Peejoe's trials in Industry and vice versa. I really liked Lucille as a character and found myself drawn to her, but she had the morals of an alley cat and her ideal of Motherhood is akin to a crocodile. Poor Peejoe...a first-hand witness to a time of upheaval and unrest in the racially charged South of the 1960"s. Mark Childress did an excellent job of hooking the reader and creating a memorable...
