“I so adore Barron’s Austen mystery series. Though I was not enthused about Barron’s one non-Austen novel I’ve read, she is like an entirely different person when writing this series, someone who completely immerses herself into JA’s world and seamlessly blends her fiction with the facts of JA’s life. Even the snippy, cruelly humorous side of JA is there, in little asides and thoughts not spoken. I was overjoyed when I saw that this had been published and could not wait to read it, and it was yet another fantastic mystery, moving along with the pace of Jane’s own life. It is set two years before her death, which makes me fear the series may not have many more installments left, but despite that, it is a hugely successful blend.”
