It started good, but went downhill for me. I seemed more about Judaism than OCD.
She put too much Jewish terminology for the non-jew to understand or enjoy. I got the feeling that she thought everyone reading this book was going to be Jewish.
I think if it was a little less Jewish and a little more OCD I would have loved it.

This book is about a girl who has OCD and never realized until she was grown up. I liked it.

This was really funny and well-written and a great read if you have any experience with OCD, but sometimes it was a bit too far on the navel-gazing end. It was worth it though! and written by my friend's former student, to boot!

This book is AWESOME! I love this book and have recommended it to a lot of people. I found it touching and at the same time laugh out loud funny in an uncomfortable sort of way. Great read!

This girl can write! She is witty and self deprecating.

My only problem with the book is that it is STEEPED in Judaism, which I know ZERO about. If you are of the Jewish faith will get a five star read!!!!

I would have liked the book better if she explained all these Yiddish words and Jewish customs to us uneducated Gentiles. However, I did laugh out loud!!! She has a flair for humor and I would read another one of her books if the subject matter were of a more universal nature. Traig has a definite future as a humorist!!!

I only got halfway thru this book. I'm sure I would have liked it more if I was Jewish.

Funny book but kinda felt like there were times where she was just adding words to make the book longer. Otherwise, it was still pretty good.

The reviewers thought it was funny; I thought her life was pathetic, I would have liked an epilogue that explained how she overcame her illnesses (if she did!) "And while I picked up plenty of important information about dressing to suit your body type, the most significant lesson I learned was a sociological one. I'd expected Israel to be populated by tanner but equally religious clones of myself. Michal's magazines revealed that it was populated by Miss Teen Universe hopefuls. These weren't the people of the book, but of the REDBOOK. I should have been disappointed, shocked, but instead I was exhilarated. It had never occurred to me that you could have both faith and flesh, that, like the pool, you could be both deep and shallow at once. In a strange way, it was an appropriate lesson. Fast days have different jobs. Yom Kippur is meant to take one out of one's body. But Tisha b'Av is meant to place one firmly in it, as hot and dirty and weak as it may be. I don't think it was just coincidence that a few weeks later I began to trade ascetic for aesthetic, doing things I hadn't done since the anorexia and scrupulosity first hit: conditioning my hair, wearing perfume, eating an eclair. A few weeks after that I would start college and begin, for the first time in years, to live a normal life. My brain was finally doing what it was supposed to. It would be quite some time before my hair would, too." (147)

This was a funny memoir in the life of a OCD girl. My favorite character has to be the mother. She is hilarious! Although, I thought the family should have done something more than to submit to Jennifer's whims. But..it made for a very funny book.
