  • Tilly: young pregnant woman, able to call lizards
  • Falco: Rosa's driver, has the hots for her as well as her position as leader
  • Rio: young bravo (too young to shave), first to join Rosa
  • Singer: sews for settlement people, sister to Brick, Lem lusts after her
  • Viv: runs the taberna (tavern); weathered little woman in her late forties, Chinese features
  • Lem: first scene with him is him being punished by Rosa with a whipping for his unwanted advances toward Singer; always trying to get more alcohol
  • Peltz: leader of a violent band of dust pirates, getting too ambitious & treading on Rosa’s territory
  • Manuel: lookout for Rosa
  • Wicker: handles the general store and all their goods; too old to fight, used to have his own business; arrived with three goats, which now provide milk
