• Isabel: Isabel is Sophie's best friend who won a baking contest that Sophie also entered. Isabel's mom owns a cupcake show called It's Raining Cupcakes.
• Sophie: Sophie Wright is the main character. She wants to be an actress, and she ever got her camp councelere's mom, whose a talent agent, to sign her and get her into a commercial.
• Dennis Holt: Dennis Holt is Sophie's lab partner for a gum project lab write-up. He made fun of Isabel and mocked her beecause of the money she won, calling her shallow, but Sophie makes him apologize. At the end of the book, Sophie realizes her and Dennis have grown to become good friends. Dennis has no friends besides Sophie and Austen. Dennis likes to fish, and likes photography.
• Hayden: Hayden is Sophie's little brother who is obsessed with aliens. In the book, he watches Star Wars for the first time and becomes obsessed with it.
• Austen: Austen is a new boy who Sophie befriends, and later, Austen befriends Dennis. Austen likes photography and steel head fishing.
• Jack: Jack is a boy who Isabel competed against in the competition. Jack has a crush on Isabel, and Isabel has a crush on Jack. He gives her a cupcake necklace when Isabel, her family, and Sophie come up to Seattle and stop at the shop Jack's mom owns, Penny's Pie Place.
• Mr. Leonard: Mr. Leonard is Sophie and Dennis's science teacher. He likes to lots of cool expirements, but he doesn't let the students pick their partners.
• Dolores: Dolores is Isabel's grandma. She likes to use the word "Ducky" and she loves wearing hats.
• Stan: Stan is Isabel's next door neighbor from England, whose Strawberry Jam Tarts from England inspired Isabel to make her Chocolate Jam Tarts.
• Candace Parks: Candace Parks is Sophie's agent, who gets her a commercial with Beatrice's Brownies.
• Daisy: Daisy is Sophie's dog. She is a Havanese.
• Pete: Pete is Sophie's uncle, and her mom's brother. He is very motivational and helpful.

• Seattle: Seattle is where Jack lives, and where Isabel, Sophie, and Isabel's family went on vacation, which they used Isabel's prize money for.
• New York City: New York City is where Isabel and her mother traveled to for the baking contest.
• Portland: Portland is where Sophie's audition took place and also where the closest mall is.
• Willow: Willow is where Sophie and Isabel live, and where the book primarily takes place.
