  • Theodore Boone: Theo Boone is a thirteen year old boy who wants to be a lawyer like his parents. His best friend, April Finnemore was abducted and Theo does everything he can to help her.
  • Woods Boone: Theo's dad. He works as a lawyer.
  • Marcella Boone: Theo's mom. Also works as a lawyer.
  • April Finnemore: Theo's best friend, abducted. She is the "youngest of three children born to two people who had no business having a family." Theo has a crush on her.
  • May Finnemore: April's mom. She is often doing drugs and bad things. Once April is in trouble though, she shows how much she really cares for her.
  • Tom Finnemore: April's dad. April's dad is in a rock band and she rarely gets to see him.
  • Jack Leeper: Kidnapper from California, long, lost relative of the Finnemores. April wrote to Mr. Leeper when he was in jail to help him pass the time.
  • Ike Boone: Theo's uncle, Woods' brother. Used to work as a lawyer before he got busted for some bad thing Theo doesn't know about.
  • Chase: A friend/classmate of Theo who helps him in finding out where April is.
  • Pete: African gray parrot. Theo saves in animal court
