  • Chip Linton: A pilot whose plane crashed in Lake Champlaign while he was flying it killing most of his passengers. He starts to hear and see strange things in the creepy New England house they move into after the tragedy. Will they ever get away.
  • Emily Linton: Chris's wife who is a lawyer. She finds herself being drawn into a feud between the herbalists in the town and those who think they are up to something evil.
  • Hallie Linton: Chip and Emily's oldest daughter (oldest by minutes). One of a fraternal set of twins. The more confident of the two- at least until they moved to the new house. Now everything seems to be changing and not necessarily for the good.
  • Garnet Linton: Chip and Emily's youngest twin...named for her red hair. The shier of the two. She has "trances" that are epileptic seizures rendering her mute.
