Nothing beat classic Steinbeck. I thought thsi book was interesting but not on the same level as Of Mice & Men or Grapes of Wrath. It was well written and the characters well formed. It feels like you ar part of the neighborhood.

Absolutelu exquisite! The opening passage is mind-blowing. Loved Mack and the guys and the way they keep messing things up.
Nice poem at the end too.
