Betsy’s strong sense of gratitude for her fashion model boss, Alyssa, got her applying as a nerd-ly dressed secretary at the Bud Brothers Flower Farm. Her mission: to spy on her boss’s alleged boyfriend, the cold and mysterious Wayne Alban. A task she has sworn to accomplish without fail to make up for all the good things the generous woman has done for her and her family.

She, however, gets in trouble when a clumsy misstep sends her toppling over Wayne’s precious hibiscus hybrids, thus ruining most of them beyond repair. As penance for what she did, she subsequently finds herself playing a role she has only vaguely dreamt about, but never actually expected to come true.

Eventually, she finds out that her boss is not all she’s cracked up to be, and that behind Wayne’s seemingly impenetrable exterior is a lonely man yearning for some genuine romance.
