Quotes edit see section history

  • “I looked up at him numbly. He smiled, resembling any other boy my age. But he wasn’t, nor was he like any other adult male. In the last fifty minutes, he had broken into an apartment, stolen data from a laptop, and made a narrow escape with James Bond finesse. Now here he was, as comfortable as can be, straightening my hair. “Who are you?” I asked. My question didn’t take him aback in the least. The tone of his quick response sounded prophetic, as though he’d seen our futures in a crystal ball. “The most loyal friend you’ll ever have,” he told me, freeing the last of my locks. “The bell is about to ring. Are you ready to go to fourth period?” Before I could answer, the bell rang.”

Notes for Parents edit see section history

Reading Level: Young Adults

(1)I am the mother of four and the author. Wanting to create something fun that sparks the imagination yet motivates empathy, integrity, and perseverance in tweens and teens inspired this series. I hope you will enjoy Cassidy's first adventure as much as I enjoyed writing it. Happy reading!– Elise Stokes (2)Cassidy Jones is a great role model for young women. Although she doesn't realize it at first, she gradually discovers how strong and independent she is when faced with an extremely dangerous and difficult situation. I would recommend this book to anyone, parent or child alike, who is looking for a good adventure! S.U.
