Twenty-six-year-old Ginny Selvaggio has just learned her parents have died in a car accident. She seeks solace in cooking and discovers she is able to call forth the ghosts of people who created the recipes. As she packs up her parents' things at the behest of her sister Amanda, who wants to sell the house and will not listen to Ginny's protests, she discovers some unsettling things: pictures of a woman she does not know and a letter from her father to her mother asking forgiveness. Determined to get at the root of the mysteries, she cooks to talk to the ghosts of her parents. Meanwhile, Amanda seeks to have Ginny's condition evaluated so that she can wrest control of the house away from Ginny and sell it.
