The book Revenge of the Homecoming Queen, written by Stephanie Hale, was very enjoyable because it was strong in the area ofth content. It was about a former homecoming queen getting revenge on all the beautiful people. Just because she was so self absorbed, she did not see all around her who were less then popular or beautiful. "I would say that you have deep insecurities about your weight. I think you miss being beautiful so much that you hate anyone who is beautiful. I have a feeling you weren't too jazzed about being dumped for my mom either."-Aspen. "Bravo, Miss Freud. You've got me all figured out."- Miss Hott. This shows that Miss Hott was jealous the Aspen got the best of it and in the end even though she was beautiful she got what she wanted. Even if the guy she ended up with started out as a "D-list" geek, and ended you being the school hottest guy. All in all, you should not be so self absorbed cause you might miss out on something great right in front of you. Like the content, the style of the book was very down to earth and real. In the book, Rand says "I wish I could believe you, but I don't. The only reason you want me now is because I'm a challenge. I was the first thing you ever had to work for. You'd ditch me as quick as you ditch purses." It is put into language that we as teenagers use, which makes it more understandable. The author put herself in the shoes of the popular girl in high school almost like she is Aspen. As mentioned above, I was very impressed with the style of this book. The form of the book was casual and I found this effective. One main reason that this form did work was because I am close in age to the main character Aspen. Another reason that this form did work was because it was straight forward and I was able to comprehend it well. These reasons made the form of the book work for me. It was excellent because the author used great syntax, casual vocabulary, and made it relate able. As a result, I give this book an outstanding recommendation because the content, form, and style are easy to understand, it was also set in a teenagers perspective which is easier to understand for a person my age.
