This book is about 3 middle school girls who make up a lie to get out of their class. This is nonstop consequences of how a simple selfish act can ruin other peoples' lives. This is very thought provoking.

To me it just wasn't that good. I got a few pages to the end and I didn't like it all, and it just seemed so pointless to me.

    From book....
For days, three seventh-grade girls—Jenna, suzanne, and Claire— agonize over whether to say anything. Finally they summon the courage to speak up about their music teacher, Frederick Mattero. what happens next is chaos. parents are called. A teacher is accused and attacked. the gossip mill churns like mad. police arrive to question other students, beginning with Melody, Mr. Mattero’s daughter. Did Mr. Mattero do anything improper, or are the girls simply lying? told from two points of view, Claire’s and Melody’s, this novel takes readers into their private middleschool worlds as the girls struggle to discover the truth.

Hockey is more than Nick's favorite sport-it has become the very framework of his life. His friends are all players, his hot new girlfriend's a huge fan, and his hopes for college hang on securing an athletic scholarship. So when his physician, coach, and family all agree, following his fourth concussion, that the 16-year-old star should stop playing the game, it means major upheaval in his life. Hughes's attention to detail in terms of both head injuries and the sport adds lots of pith and interest to this story, and her accurate portrayal of middle-class teen life (which includes sex, obscenities, and pot smoking) should keep reluctant readers turning pages. The central question shifts from the prospect of whether Nick can return to the rink to the more important matter of whether he can regain control of his roiling emotions.--Jeffrey Hastings, Highlander Way Middle School, Howell, MI

This book was poorly written, and far too predictable.

Jenna, Claire and Suzanne, all 7th graders, accuse their music teacher of sexual abuse. Mr. Mattero is a very well liked teacher and well liked in the community as well. With mr. Mattero's daughter and son in the same school as the girls that have accused their father, all are faced with very difficult decisions.

Like, WHOA. It sucks you in until you finish it! The idea is a really good one and it's an easy read so its just perfect! I don't suggest for younger kids, though, considering the theme
