  • Lara Jansen: She is a Truthseeker, gifted or cursed with the magical ability to tell honesty from lies. However, as her powers grow Lara finds she can use her gifts to return things to their true form and find paths to that which she wishes to find
  • Dafydd: The second Seelie prince. He and Lara are in love.
  • Emyr: The Seelie king of Barrow lands. A powerful and amoral being whocommands ice
  • Aerin: Dafydd's friend and former lover. She is a high ranking member of the Seelie court
  • Merrick: Dafydd's foster brother. The son of the Unseelie king who was sent to the Seelie court when just a child as a hostage. His experiences among the suspicious and standoffish Seelie court members make him twisted and corrupt.
  • Kelly: Lara' best friend. Repeatedly helps the Fae and Lara escape human notice
  • Rhiannon: The Goddess of Annwn and the first ever fae.
  • Ioan: Dafydd's elder brother who turned to the Unseelie cause after his long years among them
  • Hafgan: The King of the Unseelie
  • Annwn: The name for the land of the Fae
  • Dickon: Kelly's fiance and Dafydd's former cameraman (when he lived among humans). He feels betrayed by his friend and fiancee and is initially hostile
  • Llyr: Rhiannon's father and the sea god
  • Reg Washington: A detective with the Boston police who is injured in one of Merrick's attacks on Lara and Dafydd
  • Seale: Add a description of this character.

  • Mrs. Moloney: An old lady in our world that Lara and friends meet in hospital. She is diagnosed with Alzheimer's but Lara realizes she's actually a seer. She gives them the third part of the prophecy.
  • Niamh: Rhiannon's younger sister and Merrick's mother
