  • Natalie Kaplan: Natalie is a girl who has an incredibly controlling mom. She has always behaved well in the past, but when Carver Reed comes, she dares to do some things she never thought she'd ever do.
  • Carver Reed: The boy who stays at the Kaplan's house while on an internship at Dr. Kaplan's veterinary clinic. He was once a freckle-faced little boy who fed Natalie's pug chocolate, who she is hated ever since, but now he is a kind, smart hottie who she can't keep her eyes off of.
  • Nina: Natalie's best girl friend, who is friends with some of the popular crowd that Natalie hates. She dyed her hair blue.
  • Kirby: Natalie's best guy friend who wears thick glasses and was a dork in middle school. He is obsessed with the Beatles and his mother owns a used clothing store called Rescued Threads. He is very opinionated. He also died his hair blue.
  • Dr. Kaplan: Natalie's extremely controlling mother, who Natalie feels that at times, she must lie to her to even have a social life.
  • Laney: The girl next door to Natalie's house who is friends with Nina but Natalie hates. This girl is popular, chases after boys, and always walks around showing her underwear. She has an obvious crush on Carver and tries to steal him every chance she gets.
