“A very interesting look at the role religion plays in life and politics throughout the world. Modernism thought God was dead, the authors show He is not. Even if we don't agree theologically, people around the world want and need God. Science and technology, pluralism and a smaller world don't push God out, the authors suggest, they actually make Him more needed.
A challenging book that was well researched and written. Especially so for me as the authors are coming at the topic from a largely secular, journalistic point of view which is different for me; I was glad to hear their take on the topic.
As an evangelical Christian part of the author's message was a challenge is to understand not only what I believe but how that belief is being lived out and expressed and shared with others. That is, am I just engaged in a competitive market, trying to beat the next guy, or am I proclaiming truth and leaving the results up to God. ”
