“I haven't been much of a fan of the 500 kingdoms or elemental masters. I am often left unsatisfied by the rushed endings and the romance. And yet I still read Lackey's books because she is a good writer and I like to read a bit of fluff.
I found this book much more enjoyable than the other books in the series (although I haven't read The Sleeping Beauty yet). Nice light reading and an ending that, already still felt rushed given the rest of the book, didn't leave me feeling like I was cheated of a real ending. Predictable but that doesn't bother me if the book is well written.”
