My husband has thanked me over and over for reading such a book as this b/c it not only changed the way I viewed my husband, but also the way I responded to him. A marriage save if...” see full review » see other reviews » |

It was hard for me to get through this book because I felt a spirit of critism and lack of grace pervasive throughout. It was demoralizing to...” see full review » see other reviews » |

I don't agree with everything Mrs. Pearl and her husband say, but this teaching is very scriptural and it has been amazing to see the difference in my marriage since I read it. ”

It put a lot of guilt on women, if a relationship failed it was all their fault, and IMHO basically provided a handbook to women on how to live in an abusive relationship and justify it as being right. The concept behind it was fascinating, that it would provide the men with more incentive to be responsible and nuturing, etc and so forth. Unfortunately my experience has been that humanity is not perfect and if you give someone power...they tend to abuse it.
That being said it seems to bring a lot of women peace in their marriages and even though I'm not religious in the slightest....its important to have stable family lives and marriages. The reaction to this book between my own friends and family was very mixed. Some of them hated it, some of them started following its concepts on the spot. Like many - its very much one of those things that it is either you...or its not.”
“This was an amazing and eye opening book. It is already showing great rewards in my marriage. ”

There are a few things I didn't agree with, but on the whole this is a good book. (This book is to WIVES, and it doesn't speak on the husband's responsibilities or biblical roles.) ”
