This novel is written from four points of view - Fiona, Cheryl, Marc and Derik. The story follows their journey across the centre of the African continent from East to West. Along the way, the travellers experience many hardships and have to help each other, despite two of them seeking a secret serum. After the serum is founf by one of them, the going gets tough for everyone, with the race continuing across Europe and the USA.
