- Mitzi Steiner: A feisty older woman that was a famous singer in her youth. Had overcome a lot of insurmountable odds.
- Gabe Steiner: Mitzi's husband and the other half of her singing act. Flash forward 60 years. He is still married to Mitzi but is in a nursing home due to his Alzheimer disease.
- Brooke Woodson: Young woman that arrives in the emergency room one night when Mitzi is on her Pink Lady volunteer stint. Mitzi has a sense that this girl needs help based on the suspicious looks of her bruises.
