  • Sean Bateman: A 21 year old college student from a wealthy family. He is the brother of Patrick Bateman (American Psycho), extremely promiscuous, and a heavy drug user. It is implied that he is bisexual.
  • Lauren Hynde: A painter and fellow student. At the beginning of the novel, it is revealed that Lauren lost her virginity at a party during her freshman year at Camden, where she got so intoxicated that she passed out and was raped by two boys while unconscious.
  • Paul Denton: He's a bisexual man who dates Lauren but is extremely attracted to Sean.
  • Victor Johnson: Lauren's boyfriend who left school to backpack through Europe.
  • Clay: "The guy from L.A."
  • Rupert Guest: Sean's violent drug dealer.
