  “Well written English mystery with Lawrence Kingston, retired professor of botany, as the main character who is hired to conduct an independent inquiry. He becomes involved in a dangerous old family feud, a suspicious poisoning and threats, leading him to fear for his own life.
  To solve the secret of the past and crimes of the present, he must decipher a complex code hidden in the walls of an old manor house. I really enjoyed the style of writing the wonderful descriptive language and the use of codes and ciphers.”
