This book begins by introducing Finley and showing her power. You see her kick some major butt, then you're introduced the her problem because the guy was a noble and she'll be arrested. You then meet Griffin and see him help her. Throughout the book Finley and Griffin have a small romance going on and you find about what makes Finley, Griffin, Sam, Emily, and Jasper. They also come across a plot that is much bigger than they originally thought.

  • Finley Jayne: Lead character. Sixteen year old working class girl in Victorian England. She is the daughter of the man who inspired the story of Jekyll and Hyde so she is dealing with a darker side of herself that has come about.
  • Griffin King: Orphaned Duke of Greythorne. He's one of the most popular and rich among the society. And also very different...
  • Sam: Griffin's best friend. Recently attacked by an automaton and is dealing with the trauma. Finds comfort in a stranger who has a robotic arm and can relate to how he is feeling.
  • Emily: Third part of Griffin's circle. A genious and inventor, and Irish red head.
  • Leonardo Garibaldi: A new friend of Sam's. Has a robotic arm so Sam can relate to him.
  • Jack Dandy: Ruler of London's shadowy underworld and has an interest in Finley.
  • Felix August-Raynes: A rich boy known for being a trouble maker.
  • Lady Cordelia Marsden: The Duke's Aunt and only Family left
  • Jasper Renn: An American cowboy with a big secret & a little crush on Emily.
