Bethanne Hamlin has been divorced for 6 years. She went from a housewife to a successful business owner when she realized she needed to survive after her husband left her. When her ex-mother-in-law tells her she's going on a road trip to Florida for a class reunion, Bethanne volunteers to travel with her. Bethanne tells her daughter Annie about the trip, and Annie decides to go also in order to distract herself from the issues in her love life. The three of them leave with plenty of time to get to Florida and time to stop and see some sights along the way. During their trip, Bethanne meets a man who she cannot get out of her mind. At the same time, her ex-husband has realized that he made a mistake, and he wants her back. This trip helps her figure out who she is and what she wants out of a relationship. At the same time, Annie works through her own issues, and Ruth, Bethanne's ex-mother-in-law, reconnects with an old flame.
