after reading johansen's blind alley, i can't wait but read countdown as well...jane's quest in discovering more about cira and trevor's search for cira's gold continue in this book...but with their hunt for more knowledge on cira and her gold, threat and violence inevitably follow their trail...
with the mystery and suspense ingrained all throughout the novel, i'm just glad jane and trevor's relationship managed to precede another level...johansen really makes the reader feel the intensity ensuing between jane and trevor's encounters...it even leaves me breathless at times...whew!=)

A suspense novel that revolves around a mystery dating back thousands of years to a coniving woman and the man she's obsessed with.
One of those books that doesn't make you think to hard, but good none the less.

This book was a disappointment for me in the sense that Jane MacGuire is not my favorite character. The story line was good til the last couple of chapters. I just had a hard time with Jane going off half cocked all the time and never really letting Trevor in. Its not as fast paced as Blind Alley and I didnt feel like the ending had any closure to it. It was an okay story, but I prefer my main leading lady to be a little vulnerable, but I felt like she had none. Just my opinion.

This is one compelling read that features Eve's daughter Jane into Scotland for protection. It's a good sequel from Blind Alley. Lots of suspense and good action and romance.

Turn on the lights and dont read after dark! this is a real thriller. Another of Eve Duncan Forensic thrillers. Cira, the beautiful slave from the fall of Pompeii and her treasures in the center of the mystery. Jan MacGuire, who was the center of terror in the other book about Cira,(BLIND ALLEY) is the hunted here too. International intrigue, murdet, and romance its all here.

I found this book very boring and it felt like a chore just to finish it.

This was good, but not as good as some of Johanasen's other books.

Iris Johanson is a pheonomenal writer! I had doomed myself to never reading again because I could not find a book that just plain captivated me until I found her series of books. If you like CSI or Law and Order give Iris a try I assure you, you will fall in love with her words.
