Didn’t Like It“It was a little confusing when reading chapter 1 with this book as I had missed a number of previous books in the series and I needed them to understand what was going on. Thankfully a lot was explained in chapter 2, therefore I knew who was who and what had happened and why. I was all up-to-date...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“Not the ending I was expecting... was hoping for just a little more, but it was another great novel by Iris Johansen. I've really enjoyed reading the books in Eve Duncan's series.”

Thankfully a lot was explained in chapter 2, therefore I knew who was who and what had happened and why. I was all up-to-date after that. Despite this I was disappointed with the story. After reading THE SEARCH and BODY OF LIES I had high hopes COUNTDOWN would be as good, but it wasn't. It is my least favourite of Iris Johansen's books. I could not find anything about the heroine, (Jane) or the hero, (Trevor) I liked. In fact my feelings were indifferent when it came to them. There were other characters I liked, Jock and Bartlett were two. And the baddies were far more intriguing to me than Jane or Trevor. There was something that kept me reading the story though. Something that made me want to find out what happened; how it all ended. I felt the ending was rather flat, but I'm glad I read the whole book.”

with the mystery and suspense ingrained all throughout the novel, i'm just glad jane and trevor's relationship managed to precede another level...johansen really makes the reader feel the intensity ensuing between jane and trevor's encounters...it even leaves me breathless at times...whew!=)”
