If you're interested in things unexplained whilst nursing a healthy scepticism this is the book for you.
Looking into such areas as fortune- telling/mediumship, out of body experiences, mind over matter, ghost hunting, mind control and prophecy in dreams Wiseman explores how human nature prompts us to want to believe in matters beyond reason and also prompts some to want to mislead others.
Although many scientific studies are examined throughout this is in no way a heavy, academic book. In fact, it's incredibly easy reading, almost to the point where a bit more to get your teeth into wouldn't go amiss.
Overall an entertaining, informative and quick read (especially if you were considering visiting a psychic) which could provide you with a few party tricks to dazzle people with in the future.
