“Ellie Sullivan was a child prodigy whose life was almost cut short at a young age by a brutal stalker. Now a surgeon, Ellie does her best to keep her life normal. But a run in the park leads to Ellie witnessing a FBI agent being shot. She saves the man's life, but now hers is under threat from the criminals still at large. Agent Max Daniels is determined to protect Ellie at all costs, so if he has to go to South Carolina to act as Ellie's bodyguard during her sister's wedding, that's what he'll do. But Ellie's hometown isn't as peaceful as it seems on the surface. Danger has Ellie in its cross hairs as old threats meet new.
I finished this book, but put it down quite a few times. It seemed to take so long to get started. I really loved all the characters (except Ava), but no one really stood out. Garwood fans will love it, for others it's just an entertaining read.”
“The Ideal Man turned out to be the ideal contemporary romance. As one site put it Heroines in the contemporary romances written after 1970 usually have, and keep, a career and contemporary romance novels have grown to contain more complex plotting and more realistic characters.
All of which are found in "The Ideal Man". Summary on the book jacket :"Dr. Ellie Sullivan has witnessed the shooting of an FBI agent in pursuit of a ruthless modern-day Bonnie and Clyde known as the Landrys. The only person to see the shooter’s face, Ellie is suddenly thrust into the center of a criminal investigation spearheaded by the no-nonsense, by-the-book, and tantalizingly handsome agent Max Daniels."
Dr. Ellie Sullivan has been stalked and attacked by a madman and lived through that trauma to become a trauma surgeon. After a long day in surgery she goes out for a run only to find herself dogging bullets and involved in an F.B.I. Investigation. The only thing moving faster than the bullets is her heartrate when Max is around.
A very well written, fast paced, action filled book that ties all the loose ends up at the end.”
