  • James Banks: Alexanders golden haired cousin. James has lived with Alexander ever since Alexanders family was killed. They are closer than brothers but have very different views on their world. James is in love with the vampire Hannah who is also Vigo's sister.

  • Jake Levine: Part of a group Amy calls the "jock squad." They are generally unpleasant and mean to anyone they don't deem popular enough. Quotes edit see section history

  • “I wished he'd stop looking at me. I knew I was bright red. "Yes, but it's just a joke. I mean, there are thousands of other Mrs. Alexander Bankses. That's why I'm number eight thousand and twenty-one.”
Amy (explaining why her log on name is Mrs.AlexanderBanks8021 to Alexander)
  • “Please do not call my world 'Otherworld.' That is Elizabeth Howard's name for it, not mine. To me, it is simply Chicago. My home.”
    Alexander
  • “Even though we had come with a serious purpose, I could tell that Ms. P. was enjoying the atmosphere as much as I was. Alexander, however, took no amusement in all of the fans dressed up as James, Hannah, Vigo, and himself. As we jostled for a place in line, he muttered comments about how foolish they looked. It didn't help that several fans nagged him for pictures. He barked at them to leave him alone, but that only egged them on more, making them declare him the perfect Alexander Banks. Eventually, he gave up and scowled for a few pictures.”
    Amy
  • “I'm done with fan fiction. I'm ready to write something completely my own now." "Do you have anything in mind?" "Um, let's see...It could be about a girl who falls in love with a character in a book, and then finds out that he's real." He lifted a brow. "And would there be vampires in this book, by chance?" "No, I've had enough of vampires. Maybe I'll add zombies instead.”
    Amy, Alexander
  • “I never expected I would say this, but I have great hope for my world. I think its story will end well." "What about our story?" "Ours has just begun.”
    Alexander, Amy
  • “In their world, kissing someone's wrist was a sign of repressed passion.”
    Amy about Alexander
