  • Gen: A girl who is used to her 21st century life and takes it for granted. She has been dying to get a cell phone. When her family goes to an 1890's frontier camp, she hates it.
  • Caleb: A boy who Gen meets at the camp. Gen starts liking him.
  • Nora: Ron and Betsy's mean daughter who lives at the camp with them. She hangs out at the "Electricity Shack", which the other kids soon find out about.
  • Ron and Betsy: The camp owners. They live there year round with their daughter Nora.
  • Kate ( Ka ): The goth girl at camp, who is Gen's best friend at camp. Her family is all sporty, blonde , and peppy. Ka gets annoyed by them though. Her mom just got married to her step-dad, with his own kids. They want to family bond, but it's not working out with Ka.
  • Gen's mom: Gen's mom is the one who planned their vacation. She was obsessed with Little House on the Prairie. Nobody else really wanted to go, but she was all for it.
  • Gen's Dad: He wasn't really up for the trip either. He is very afraid of animals. so he keeps his eyes on the woods for bears.
  • Gavin: Gen's brother was just as bad as the rest of them. First he was scared of the chickens, then didn't want them to be killed. Him and Gen finally become a team in prairie life.
