“Being a fan of Marcus Sedgwick, my opinion might be a little biased.
This book was indeed very eerie- Sedgwick knows how to play up the creepiness factor! It is told with parts from the prospectives of Rebecca, Ferelith and a priest from the 1700s. This book explores the concepts of life after death, and is a great read. I had to stop myself, literally!! All the way up until the end, I was wondering what was going to happen to Ferelith, and the final results of the experiments that the priest spoke of.
It is chock full of suspense and again, creepiness. The angel and the devil, that's the creepiest part about this book. All in all, this is what I'd expect from such a great writer such as Marcus Sedgwick.”
