Liked It“I loved it and hated it at the same time. It was so unfair on many levels. I don't think a book has made cry so hard. It's based on the bible story of Jacob and Leah. Liz Curtis Higgs did such an amazing job of bringing each character to life that I could barely put the book down.” see full review » see other reviews » |

Two sisters living in the late 1700's Scottish Lowlands are changed by the abrupt arrival of their cousin, James McKie who is of marrying age. The story has a significant infusion of faith and prayer as the older of the two examines her heart and different kinds of love. ”

Out of the first three books, she's the best character hands down. ”

It was from a different perspective than is generally given, so it creates sympathy for her and makes her more real to the reader. ”
