I implored the readers of my book, Mind Over Matter, in the last Chapter, to read the two books by Ricardo Semler, so I won’t add anything else here, except to reiterate a strong desire that you suspend everything you think you know about running an organization and read these two books, especially "The Seven-Day Weekend." Please. The present owes it to the future.

GIST: Treat the adusts in a work place as grown up and they'll start behaving responsibly. OPINION: Don't miss this. And its sequel "Seven Day Weekend." This is the largest (in terms of number of people involved) and only sustaining work ever done on the subject. A book that every HR Manager should read. It re-defines on what can be achieved in an organization, if ones treats his employees with more respect and dignity.

I found some of the ancedotes in this book to be quite clever, but that's about where my enjoyment ended. I admire the work that this man has done to build his company, but the book was a bit too "look at me, look at me" for my tastes. I would have liked to see more about the company and less about how it was his genius that everything happened.
